Why I ❤️ Sagittarius

Hello dear readers, it is that time of month again where we transition from one astrological sign to another and this month brings us the season of the Sagittarius! I love this sign not only because I have a Sag daughter and a Sag sister, but for all of the lovely traits and compatibility that go along with being born between November 22 and December 21. I am excited to learn more about this sign with you as we journey together through this Sagittarius season. So let’s go!

Aftermath

So I did it. I kicked out my best friend. It was painful, but not messy. he went without a fuss. I was the only fussy one. I a still overly emotional, the saltwater threatens all my food at this point, not just the granola. I am still a wreck, but I have a pleading eye on the prize;there is a bit of hope.

Saltwater Granola and Me

I’m crying into my granola right now. Why? I’m not sure exactly. Could be the seasonal affective disorder. Could be the fact that I’ve been working so much I haven’t had time to write or clean my house in a while. Or it could be the fact that my once-beloved friend and roommate is such a lazy asshole he hasn’t gotten off his ass or the couch to help me or do a goddamn thing in weeks. Probably all three.

A Letter to My Younger Self

Dear readers, it has been a few days since I have been around. I have been working on my November goal of making more money. It’s going okay. I looked up writing prompts today for lifestyle bloggers because I was stumped. I am experiencing writer’s block. Suck. Anyway, this topic was on the list and it sparked my interest. So what do you say? What would you say to your younger self? I don’t know for sure, but we’re about to find out!

5 Things You Need to Know Before You Turn 30

So life goes at a fast pace and when you are young, you have the energy to keep up. You’re running along, working, having a social life, maybe partying a bit…and then something tragic happens. Your biological clock ticks one final time for 29 and then you turn 30. At that point, for no reason I can fathom, it’s like you suddenly hit a wall, stick there for a minute, then slowly ooze your way down to the floor.

November Knockouts

Hello again dear readers! Another month has started and now that I’ve eaten enough candy to kill a horse in the lat 24 hours, it’s time to settle down and think about what November should look like for me. I’ve got some goals in mind for this month, and although they are short-term, hopefully they will lead to bigger things down the road. Of course, I want them to be s.m.a.r.t. goals. This means that I want them to be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-based. So with that in mind, let’s jump right in!

Happy New Year! (I mean Samhain)

Hello dear readers, and Happy Halloween! May your hearts be merry and your candy buckets overflow! Today is a special holiday for me and my fellow pagans everywhere because today marks the last of the “light” half of the year and the beginning of the “dark” half. This has to do with the amount of sun we get per day, not positive and negative. The night that falls between October 31st and November 1st is celebrated in the USA by dressing up and knocking on strangers’ doors to beg for candy. But it wasn’t always about that, and to some of us, it still isn’t. Yes, I take my son trick-or-treating on Halloween. But I also keep him home from school if it is a school day because we have far too much to celebrate on this, the day of the ancient fire festival, Samhain.

When Life Gives You Lemons, Buy Your Own Damn Fruit

I hate lemonade. It’s sour, and gives me heartburn. I even have trouble stomaching the pink stuff. So why is it that life always seems to think we need or want lemons? The saying “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade” has always bothered me. I mean, it’s good advice and all that. But there’s just something not quite right about it. It’s a little too settled. Resigned, maybe-that’s the word. Hmm. It’s one saying I don’t like to just accept. In this post I’m here to say screw lemonade! When life hands you lemons tell it you are highly allergic to citrus, bust out your epi-pen, and be sure to collect life’s name and contact information for insurance purposes later. The way I see it, there are three ways we can handle this. And each one is perfect for a specific kind of situation. Choose wisely.
