My Top 10 Fave Apps This Year
By Andrea Watson | September 25, 2020
Pardon my cheesy title-it sounds better in my head. But seriously, what is app everyone? I’m glad you are here today. You ready to Life All Day? Perfect. If you follow my blog, you know that I’m all about the wellness. All good. But today we’re going to shift gears because I wanna tell you all about my 10 most favoritest apps for Android (sorry, no I phone here). Plus we need this. I mean, let’s face it, we practically live in our phones. These apps have certainly done me good and best of all, they’re all free! And who doesn’t like free stuff? We’ll just jump right in here. So let’s go!

Cash App
Hands down my favorite-it’s a life saver! Do you need to pay someone or do you need to get paid? I do, every month. To both. I use Cash App to easily transfer money instantly to my sister’s or daughter’s bank accounts, and they do the same for me. It’s super easy to add contacts transfer money, and collect. In fact, the whole app is very user-friendly, even for someone like me who had to Google “how to clear my cache” last night.
Tik Tok
I know. Controversy in the news, right? Trump’s ban and all that. But I’m gonna be the Devil’s advocate here. Tik Tok may be annoying to those of us over 40, but man it sure does help promote a blog! Or anything, for that matter. I just slap on my face, shoot a quick vid, and forget about it! Just like other social media apps, you can gain a following on Tik Tok. Plus, you know the average age group of the audience you’re reaching so you have a better idea of what to do. Plus, you can like, follow, and share! We all love sharing.
Credit Karma
I love this app. It not only shows you your credit score, but it gives you suggestions and how to improve your credit and it tells you their take on how well that suggestion will work for you. This free service is way better than just getting your free credit score once per year.
PicsArt Photo Editor
So you will find that 3 of my favorite apps are photo apps. I know. But I just can’t help it-I love me a good photo editor!! This one is my favorite. The best I have found, hands down. It won’t take a picture like some other apps will (a major downside). But it has a bazillion editing options including tools, filters, beauty, stickers, frames, masks, borders, camera flares and more. I haven’t even used all of the editing tools yet, there are so many. Now, there are some tools you can’t use without going Gold, such as the eye bag remover (damn!). But still you can come through it with a darn good looking picture. I mean, you saw in my “A day in my life” post and now look at me!
I know you can do Twitter online. But that way sucks. With over one Billion downloads, Twitter is the place to grow a following. And the app works on your android, Chromebook, and desktop. It is so easy just to pop that thing open and announce your life details to the world. This beautiful, sleek app is user-friendly and addictive. I have found that it’s a spectacular way to promote a blog, or anything, really. The other day I went from 88 to 700 followers overnight and it its still growing from my one post. Freakin’ sweet!
Signal
Signal is a cool, privacy-driven messaging app. It’s capable of performing calls and video calls as well, so you have all of your communication in one place! This app can take and send pictures too. The one downside I found is that when I set up my account, only a few contacts from my phone to the app. That sucked and I had to invite my other friends to join us by downloading the app. Other than that, it’s very useful and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Google Photos
This is not an editing app, although you can edit photos with it (not like the other apps, though). Rather, it is a cloud-based storage apps for all of your pics and vids. It can create collages, animations, slideshows, and videos. It won’t take pictures or videos for you, but it sure will store, share and edit the hell out of ’em! There is an AI assistant to help you along and it will even back up your media. Plus, it works for Android, and iOS.
Netflix
Who doesn’t love Netflix?! I mean, come on. They’ve got tons and tons of movies and shows streaming all for a low monthly price. You don’t have to wait to get your movies in the mail anymore and plus, with an Android phone, you can watch anywhere you go as long as you have an internet connection. Netflix personalizes your experience for you as you watch and like different things. It will show you stuff you might like, let you watch stuff over and over again, and give each person in your home a profile of their own to use and personalize. Also, they have some really awesome originals. You should really check them out. I personally like The OA quite a bit.
Snapseed
Here we have yet another photo app. This one is an editor. Like PicsArt, Snapseed won’t take a picture for you, but is has lots of tools you can use to edit your existing pics. With over 100 million downloads and one million reviews, it rates a solid 4.5-which is pretty impressive as far as a photo edit app goes.
Google Opinion Rewards
Now this is cool. It’s a survey app that pays in play store credits. Depending on how long the survey is, you can earn from $0.10-$1.00 per every go. The great thing about this app is that it’s free and you don’t have to use it, so there’s no pressure. But if you want to, you can spend a few minutes here and there taking surveys. Whether you are waiting in a lobby, standing in line, or sitting on the toilet (please no… eww, Pinkeye!) but you get the point. You can do it in your boring moments. It’s not cold, hard cash, but it’s like money in your pocket if you like to download stuff you have to pay for.
So there you have it-my 10 favorite apps for 2020. I invite you to peek out from your comfy zone of favorite apps and give these a try! Or don’t-but you’d be missing out. Let me know in the comments what your favorite apps are, and I’ll try them out too. As always, I take requests! Let me know what you’d like me to write about and I’ll do my best to git ‘er done. And remember, I love guest posts, so email me @ awatsonworks@gmail.com and let me know if you are interested. Til tomorrow!
